Cá độ bóng đáLead Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Nurse Karen Clarke has been presented with an award from the Derbyshire branch of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) for her continued hard work during Covid-19.
As part of the RCN’s celebrations for International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, the Derbyshire branch has selected 20 award winners in the county to receive special recognition for their work this year.
Cá độ bóng đáKaren has maintained the IBD biologics service during the pandemic almost single handed after a number of her team members were redeployed to other areas in response to the virus. Karen went above and beyond, often working long days to ensure the highest standard of care for her patients while maintaining utmost professionalism at all times.
One of Karen’s colleagues nominated her for the award, and it continued: “Karen’s work is not in isolation, but rather she is an integral member of a complex multi-disciplinary team including consultant, phlebotomy, pharmacy and homecare service providers.
“Even when others became frustrated, Karen was full of compliments for others and always supportive and taking the lead. I admire Karen’s expert knowledge, professionalism, determination, and dedication and enjoy working with her.”
Karen said: “I’m very surprised to be receiving this award. I don’t feel like I have done anything exceptional, I’ve just been doing what everyone at the Trust has been doing and doing my job.
“Working through the pandemic has been a huge team effort and every member of the team deserves to receive an award for the hard work they’ve put in over the past year.”
